Batanai Matsika has more than 10 years’ experience in equities research and mainstream investment banking in Sub-Saharan Africa (including South Africa). He has worked for local and regional finance and investment banking houses including Imara Africa Securities, Sanlam, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI) and Akribos Capital. He has also consulted for Nova Capital Africa Analytics (USA), Hamilcar Capital (UK) and Mackie Research Capital Corporation (Canada). Batanai is a thought leader and columnist for Business Times, Zimbabwean Independent and Financial Gazette. He has appeared on business and financial TV shows including CNBC Africa, Business Day TV and China Global Television Network (CGTN). He holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies (Finance & Banking) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Treasury Management from the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently working on an MSc in Corporate Finance & Investment Management. Batanai Matsika is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers and Member of the Institute of Business Advisors in Southern Africa (IBASA).
Dr Solomon Guramatunhu
Dr Solomon Guramatunhu is a Zimbabwean ophthalmologist who began his career as a medical doctor after graduating from the University of Zimbabwe. He was then awarded a scholarship to pursue his studies in Scotland where he specialised in ophthalmology. Guramatunhu is an avid investor on different investment markets and is the patron of PiggyBankAdvisor. He is also a member of the International Cataract and Refractive Surgery Society of Southern Africa, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Corneal Society and the European Vitreo-retinal Society and Euretina.
